With a packing size from 37.8 x 19.7 x 27.6″ and a weight from 33.5 lbs, the quickly folded bicycle quickly finds safe shelter. Out on the road, your Grasshopper fx unfolds pure driving pleasure.

A space saving miracle. With its two smooth running 20″ wheels, the Grasshopper fx is also the most compact model in our recumbent bike range. Fully unfolded this bike has a length of 5’3″ – shorter than your old upright bike! The medium seat height of 21.3″ makes the Grasshopper fx perfect also for smaller riders: You have a good overview in traffic and can put your feet down safely at traffic lights. And if you fancy an e-bike, you can order our electric assist system to help you along.
Your Grasshopper fx indulges you with relaxing comfort. The full suspension also increases riding safety, as control and traction are improved. And the best part: You save energy – an effective suspension lets you go faster! With every unsuspended bump, part of the forward energy is irretrievably converted into upward or downward movement of the bike and rider. With the Grasshopper fx, only the wheels follow the profile of your rough path. Even driving on dirt roads becomes a delight now. Important: The quality of a cycle’s suspension becomes particularly clear when carrying a great deal of luggage or riding on hills.
We charge a flat rate of $369 for shipping via freight in most of the Continental US. We do not ship outside of the US. There are few zip codes in the US that are more expensive - we will reach out to discuss if this is an issue. It’s usually the very rural locations.
Your Grasshopper fix comes 100% fully assembled. We require that all shipped HP Velotechniks be ordered with a boom adjust kit so you just adjust the boom to the proper length, adjust the seat and handlebars to your liking and go for a ride! You can order the adjustment kit with all of the tools necessary to set the proper boom length and then return the kit for a full refund once the bike is set up. Or have us install a kit so that others can ride your bike too!
If you order additional parts with the bike, our website may charge you additional shipping. When we receive the order, we will refund that amount.
The current lead time from HP Velotechnik is 6-8 weeks. It takes time to build your perfect bike.
A final note about ordering bikes on our website: We will always call you after you place your order to discuss your build, make sure all of the options are correct and ensure that it is the right bike for you. If we need to make changes, additions or cancellations, we will happily do that - we want to make sure you are happy with your new bike. We will NEVER just ship out a bike without a conversation.
